I've had At&t DSL service for alsmost six years now. I gradually upgraded the service from Basic all the way to Pro. Recently, after my upgrade to Pro I wasn't a 100% happy with the increase in speed so I started researching what I can do to get the most out of my DSl service. One of the suggestions that kept coming up in the forums (broadbandreports, dslreports, etc) was to get a newer modem. I thought it would be easy to get a new modem from At&t. Was I wrong...when I called At&t they told me that I would have to purchase a modem, my warranty on my modem has expired and if I would want a new modem I would have to PAY for it. Now doesn't that sound plain stupid??? Is At&t in the business of selling services or modems?
Please let me know if you've had the same experience with At&t...
